Happy Birthday Bobby!

http://youtu.be/NK1LLV8uRAM

On what would have been his 72nd birthday, here's 12 minutes of Bobby at his best. From Barking to Wembley, he is a legend in every since of the word. Too often that term is tossed around, but you'd be hard pressed to find someone who has done more to bring prestige, honour and success to West Ham United and English football in general.

What's Wrong with Kev?

He has more goals than any other member of the England squad. He's been a consistent performer in all eleven matches in the EPL he's competed in so far. He's also proven himself capable as a provider. And he doesn't have a single England call up. So, what's wrong with Kev?

Admiral Ken

One of our favorite photos. Admiral Ken unloading his sound. Can’t remember his name now but word has it the lad of the left, in the back of the truck, was a pretty talented boxer. Not hard to imagine. If you happen to know who he is, let us know. Not the worst dressed bunch either are they? Pretty much everything we’re into in one picture.

Henri's Wonder Goal

Henri Lansbury, current Hammer on loan from Arsenal, scored a wonder goal for England’s under-21 side against Belgium. It’s the first goal in the highlights. Spectacular, whether he meant it or not.

We Miss Ya Bobby

Nineteen years ago today, West Ham United and the country of England lost someone the word icon might have well been created for. The pin we have marking the date of Bobby’s first game for West Ham was proudly displayed today, as it is every other day, but it was a bit more special. Bobby, we love ya. Rest in Peace.

Geoff Hurst, Legend

Geoff Hurst with the Upton Park faithful watching in the background. West Ham legend, England legend, the only player to score a hat trick in a World Cup final. Funny too think the lad wouldn’t even have been a centre forward if it wasn’t for legendary West Ham manager Ron Greenwood converting him to the role, and he wasn’t even a first choice forward for England in ‘66. Legend.
