Tomorrow evening provides, very likely, the last chance for Zab Judah to to redeem a career that has been stuttering since he reached the pinnacle of the sport way back in 2005. It was that year he became the undisputed World Welterweight Champion. It's been a tough ride ever since.

Figured with Garcia/Morales II being officially announced this week, part of a card to welcome boxing back to Brooklyn, what better way to celebrate than making this weeks Friday Night Fight the 2000 Fight of the Year Barrera/Morales I. When you talk most exciting fighters in the last decade you will hear the same names repeated again. Marquez, Pacquaio, Barrera, Morales, Gatti, Ward, Vazquez. Really in the lower weight classes we witnessed some of the best fights of all time. Barrera/Morales I might be the one which kick started all the others. It made each mans career, became a signature fight for them one which people will always look back on when reviewing the careers of both men. You want to know how Marco Antonio Barrera fought, how Erik Morales fought? Watch this fight. It’s hard to believe 12 years later we still have Erik Morales in the ring. The man has an undying will to fight, to prove his mettle in the center of the ring. In October he’ll get yet another chance to prove the game hasn’t moved past him.

March Fighter of the Month: Orlando Salido

Well we have another month of fights down, and some of the biggest names in the sport were in action. Sergio Martinez, Zab Judah, James Kirkland, Juan Manuel Lopez, Wladimir Klitschko and of course, the man himself, Erik Morales all mixed it up over the course of a very busy month in the fight game. If there’s one theme running throughout many of the fights going on this weekend, the one which keeps popping up is a need to prove oneself. Whether that is done through continuing a rise to the top of your division, in the case of Diego Magdaleno, or re-establishing yourself as one of the best in your division, in the case of Zab Judah, or simply reminding people you are just as good as you were once thought to be, in the case of James Kirkland, the boxing ring provides no better an opportunity to do so. Life is black and white once you step into that ring. There is nowhere to run, nowhere to hide, you need to stand toe to toe with your opponent if you want to prove yourself. Judges may be able to skew a decision in your favour, but what you cannot have influenced by any other outside factor is what the fans see and the opinions your performance leads them to form about your ability.
