At For The Suits we’re very passionate about things done in a classic, traditional manner. The barbershop is a ritual and a sanctuary. This clip features Aaron Biber, an 89 year old barber whose shop in north London was looted and destroyed during the riots in London earlier this year. Three interns at a London advertising agency launched a campaign to raise money for Mr. Biber so he would be able to reopen the shop. They raised nearly $50, 000 for him and the shop was reopened. There’s a surprise in the video, and it’s a little bit heartwarming if you follow football at all. Not a surprise? The old lad can still cut hair like a boss.

Levi Stubbs
Levi Stubbs is the goddamn man. One of the most talent vocalists in all of music, he never once tried to make himself a solo star instead choosing to focus all his talent on performing in the Four Tops (originally the Four Aims). No matter how many times the opportunity to go solo or receive top billing in the Four Tops was presented to him by Berry Gordy, he refused to be made the star of the group. A paragon of loyalty at a time when people like Diana Ross were willing to throw the rest of their groups under the bus to get famous. Also in this picture this motherfucker is getting his shine on.
A Bridge Too Far
Watched this for the first time last night. Total classic and a sobering story. You really should watch this if you haven’t already.

I couldn’t really think of a better Boxing Day present then the highlights from one of the all-time greatest wars in the sport: Ward-Gatti I. Enjoy.

Brooks Brothers
Hopefully if you were out and about shopping today and have a Brooks Brothers local you stopped in to pick something up. Snapped up a great blue striped button down for myself. Anyone attempting to make a button down collar shirt should have to study a Brooks Brothers one before even getting the chance to make one.

Icons of Mens Style
One of the best presents I received this year, courtesy of my lovely other half Deanna. Icons of Mens Style covers all the bases from harringtons to loafers. And it is incredibly refreshing to read a book covering men’s style that doesn’t completely ignore the massive influence subcultures like mod and skinhead had on making some of these items popular and stylistic staples. Bravo Mr. Sims.
