After their first run of stripes was a bit disappointing, compared to the sort of quality we've grown accustom to Mikkel Rude displaying, the man seems to have hit his stride in the stripes game. Above is our favorites out of the Autumn/Winter collection for 2013. The blue striped number and mint green Oxford are the two must have in our opinion. You know the drill by now.

Brutus is Back
Wednesday, 8 May 2013
Bless Brutus
Exciting news for those of us who can't get enough of Brutus: They've got eleven new checks lined up. One gets the feeling those tragedies they released earlier in the year didn't quite fly off the shelves and they've returned back to their roots. A fair few standouts in the lineup as well, start saving your pennies now. Between Brutus and Mikkel Rude, who needs to moan about Ben Sherman losing the plot anymore?

Kamakura Goes Live
Kamakura has finally launched their online shop, after much anticipation. While the selection on offer isn't as elaborate as, say, Mikkel Rude or Brutus, the two above represent he collection at its best. As ever, expect the highest quality cotton in these shirts and a great slim cut. All interested should click here.

Rude Is Back
Mikkel Rude has an exciting new range of Oxford cloth shirts, just in time for summer. If you've read our Spring/Summer style guide then you already know Oxford shirts come highly recommended in the next couple of months. It's even better when the shirts are from Mikkel Rude and in a range of exciting designs. The two standouts would certainly be the Bengal stripe and the Classic stripe on offer. After so many great designs when it came to Gingham, Tartan and Checks it was a bit disappointing what was released as initial stripes. These make up for it. Between these and the upcoming launch of the Kamakura Shirts site we suspect many a reader will be pinching pennies.

Brutus meets The Good Doctor, Round 2
Brutus is back with a second collaboration shirt with the bootmaker in all our hearts, Dr. Martens. After the atrocities they had released a few months ago, which we cleverly labelled Brutus Grimfit, they've come back strong with this beauty. All the details are there, including a collar that gives Brooks Brothers a run for their money, and pre sale orders are taken starting Friday. We have a feeling this one will be just as popular as the first go round.

For The Suits: Spring/Summer Guide
Could that be, the, the, the sun!?! Spring is just around the corner (not from where we're sitting mind you) and so it's time for another For The Suits season guide. You know the deal: we outline our personal favorites for the season and you run out and buy them. Or wear them if you already have the gear. We like to think so at least.

Brutus Grimfit?
Well it hasn't taken Brutus too long to completely lose the plot. They posted their Spring/Summer 2013 lineup earlier this week and it's, well, special. Apparently they've given up on making the quality shirts they were pumping out when the company first made a return a couple of years ago. We're still not entirely sure this isn't just an early April Fools joke, at least we're hoping it's a joke of some kind. The sight of some of their great button downs having been butchered down and used to make these new terrible shirts may be too much for those with a weak heart. We all got a couple of great shirts out of 'em though, right?

An Open Letter to Ben Sherman
Dear Ben,
I suppose there's never a real easy way to bring up these kind of things. Sometimes it's best just to treat them like a band-aid and just pull it off and deal with a sharp, quick pain than a agonizing, prolonged one. So here it is: you've changed, and I don't like it one bit.

Robert Elms, although typically a twat, isn't too annoying in this clip. Paolo Hewitt also makes an appearance talking about the beauty of a Brutus shirt.

Mikkel Rude Makes Great Shirts
Let’s just get this out there: there is not a better shirt out there at the moment. Mikkel Rude has been doing some absolutely brilliant shirts for a year or two now, and I’ve yet to pick one up and be disappointed. Plenty of complaints revolve around the price, but sometimes you just need to pick yourself up something nice. All the details are there: big button down collar, loop at the back of the neck, full back pleat and it comes in a box. Treat yourself.

No Mas Does It Right
If you’re like us, you always want to look your best. Probably why you visit the site. Our boxing coverage might be another reason, at least we hope so. It’s hard to mix the two, a lot of boxing shirts are either made for working out or are promotional shirts for boxing shows. Well problem solved. The cats over at No Mas have been making some killer gear since 2004 and we, unfortunately, just now came across them. They don’t solely do boxing shirts and hoodies, but the ones they do are epic. Muhammad “Cassius Clay” Ali is well represented, but they also got shirts for lesser known fighters such as a Hawk Time shirt for Aaron Pryor and a shirt for Ray “Boom Boom” Mancini. Long story short, we could rave about them for hours but you need to just go and check them out. Click the picture to go to the site.

Summer Look
Find it a bit hot nowadays? We’re currently experience a heat wave where we’re at so being who we are, why not offer some advice. Don’t work up a nasty sweat and don’t use the heat as an excuse to dress like a dumb dumb. Go out and get yourself a nice plain, cotton Oxford shirt. Paired with sta-prest (see our guide if you need advice on that particular item) and brogues you’ll be having fun in the sun in no time and hardly breaking a sweat doing it. As it so happens the Oxford shirt is also one of the few things Ben Sherman still manages to get right, so all the better. And if you’re into getting The Look right, which let’s face it you are or you wouldn’t be here, these shirts harken back to the days of the hard mod and early skinheads when plain button down shirts were thee item to own. Not seeing any reasons to not have one now, are we?

Mikkel Rude, Once More
Mikkel Rude has done it once more. The six shirts above comprise his summer collection for the year and there are some beautiful shirts amongst them. All shirts were made in limited numbers and feature the great tailoring and classic features one has come to expect from Mr. Rude, so you might want to get on it quick. While we’re on the topic, we have a For The Suits profile coming soon with Mikkel Rude so stick around won’t ya?

This is the Seventies For Ya
[youtube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FH0gE4Hovk4?wmode=transparent&autohide=1&egm=0&hd=1&iv_load_policy=3&modestbranding=1&rel=0&showinfo=0&showsearch=0&w=400&h=300]
This is awesome and ridiculous. From a time when Ben Sherman wasn’t regularly turning out absolute shit in a bid to update their shirts in an attempt to be trendy whilst losing all site of the fact they were popular because of the classic Ben Sherman shirt details.

Oh Gingham
This light blue Gingham might be our favorite shirt for summer. We’ll be doing a bit on summer style later this week.

Classic Brutus Remake
Celebrated shirtmaker Brutus has yet another great shirt available for pre-order today. The shirt in question also happens to be an exact remake of one originally put out in 1969. So most can probably figure out exactly why we’d be excited about it, while everyone else just needs to realize it’s a great shirt. A click on the picture will bring you through to the Brutus site. You’re welcome.
