Alden probably make the finest shoes one could hope to own. We’ve spoken quite a bit in the past of our admiration for other shoemakers such as Bass and Loake but Alden is on a whole ‘nother level. Along with that comes a hefty price tag though. The shoes are handmade by second and third generation employees of Alden, in the companies factory in Middleborough, Massachusetts. Most won’t have the cash for a pair, us included, but even a vintage pair is well worth tracking down. The quality quickly pays for itself.

Lovely ad for Florsheim Royal Imperial brogues. Our personal favorite brogue maker, Florsheim makes a range of great footwear but their speciality “Royals” have held a place in many a skinheads heart for decades. Well worth every penny.
